Give Through Your Donor-Advised Fund
A donor-advised fund (DAF) is a type of giving fund administered by a third party such as a community foundation or financial institution. DAFs allow you to make a charitable contribution of cash, securities, or other assets to the fund, receive an immediate tax deduction, and then recommend grants from your DAF account over time to the nonprofits you wish to support.
Things to know:
You can use your DAF to make a one-time or recurring gift.
You will receive an acknowledgement for your gift, but not a charitable receipt for tax purposes because it is your contribution to your DAF that is tax-deductible.
How to recommend a DAF Gift to Food Forward:

Give From Your IRA
If you are 70½ or older, you can make a tax-free distribution from your Individual Retirement Account (IRA) to Food Forward. This is called a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) and it’s an incredible way to partner with us to fight hunger, food waste and climate change!
How it works:

- Contact your plan administrator to direct distributions in the amount of your choosing from your IRA to Food Forward, Inc. (EIN # 90-0678872)
- This can be a one-time or recurring gift.
- The distributions go directly to Food Forward and are not subject to federal income tax.
- Your gift may satisfy your IRA’s annual required minimum distribution (RMD), if applicable.
- To ensure that your gift is properly processed and that you are listed as the donor of record, please have your QCD directed to:
